Hazy golden colour, big white head. Aroma is very pleasant, of citrus, coriander and other spices. Flavour is full, with caramel malts, spices and some fruits. Smooth mouthfeeling. Very nice!

750 ml bottle from Bev4less in Santee. Pours a hazy copper color with a large sudsy white head that lingers a fair while and leaves plenty of lacing. The Aroma is strong with bananas, pears and mild spices. The flavor mirrors the aroma--the bananas are sweet and ripe in the forefront; other fresh fruits round out the sides: grapes apples and pears. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. The finish is long with complex fruits lingering. Overall: This is the sweetest tripel with the most fruit that I can ever remember. Very different. Recommended.

Nose of summer fruits - apples and pears with caramel, sugar and yeast hints. Pours a golden yellow beer slightly opaque. Head is off-white and firm. Taste is malty with sweetness dominating the palate and a nice balance of hops. A vinuous aftertaste lingers. Great.

Poured into a tulip with a thick white head. Aromas of plums and malts apparent. Initial flavor of malts followed by a slightly sweet, tart taste. Not a bad beer.

I can’t recall having as much difficulty with a corked and caged bottle as I had with this one. Perseverance paid off and we were greeted by a attractive glass of marmalade-orange color with a thick, frothy off-white head. The head dropped fairly soon leaving lots of lacing. The aroma of the Koningshoeven was a sweet fruitiness with yeast and mild pepper in the background. The flavor has fruit at the forefront; oranges and apples, and not overly sweet. Hop bitterness is restrained. There’s a very nice malt balance to the flavor with a slight pepper note added in the aftertaste. The 8% ABV was very well-masked in this Belgian triple. Mouthfeel is moderately thick and creamy. There’s just the right amount of refreshing carbonation.

(Bottle, 0.75l BBE 04-2005, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-12-23. Thank you Marjut for finding this gem.) Orange. Hazy. Small white head. Raisin, apricots, dried plum and fruitiness in quite strong nose. Full bodied and little bit dry and sugary palate with medium carbonation. Raisin, malts, fruitiness, dried plum, bitterness, sweetness and some chocolate in taste. Raisin, sweetness and bitterness in aftertaste.
