Great beer both in appearance and flavor. Pours nice and dark, drinks light and fruity with subtle yeast undertones. Don’t let the alcohol creep up on you, as it is very well hidden.

Cloudy orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is apricots, alcohol and yeast. Taste is spicey and as aroma. Full bodied, alcohol is pretty noticable but that’s OK. Good stuff.

Bottled. Cloudy orange colour with an off-white head. Sweet flavour dominated by citrus and spices. Sweet flavour of fruits, citrus and spices with yeasty notes. Not much bitterness. Nice triple.

From bottle, red wine glas. Konongshoeven is not the best trappist brewery but not the least good either. Creamy nice head, fully lasting with nice sparkling and lively carbonation. Amber orange body. This is a nice tripel, the nose beeing hay, citrus, grape, orange and even more Seville orange. Apple, coriander, honey, hints of green cheese. Spicy and complex. Medium to full body, dry and a bit on the watery side. Inital sweet and bitter taste finishing in a medium sweet, light acidic and light bitter flavor. The only dutch trappist tripel is better then many belgian tripels not really a world wonder but still sexy. Cheers

Bottled as Koningshoeven. Pours the darkest of tripels I’ve seen - a very amber influenced yellow. The aroma is complex and full of fruit - I notice melon, apple, banana, papaya, bubblegum, and champagne. The flavor is a bit different than the aroma, and has a more meaty, taste with the appropriate Tripel phenols. The moughtfeel is a bit thin and light. Overall, another very good Trappist offering. This one’s aroma is particularly good.

courtesy of cartdan. pours hazy golden, white head. Good example of Trappist, not my fav. of them. Pours dark orange with thin off white/beige head. Some nice grainy mouthfeel with dark fruits that seem to be overpowering the experience. Some yeast add to the palate experience and finish.

Bottle 30cl. Pours a clear orange colour with a small size head and great carbonation. Aroma is very pleasant and fruity, mainly sweet fruits. Can smell oranges, spices and also some banana there too as far as I can smell. Taste is also very fruity and sweet with oranges spices and banana, great taste and a surprisingly good compared to the other La Trappe beers which I’m not too fond of.

BOTTLE: rich gold pour, tannish head. Fruit and malt on the nose, plus some spice. Taste is mildly bitter, spice, fuller-bodied, very good tripel.
