| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2003 Yeasty and orangy nose. Deep orange colour with a decent white head. Yeast and orange taste a bit thin compared to the Belgium classics that this is trying to emulate. Still its a good beer. rauchbier (3003), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2002 Bottle conditioned. Amber coloured, darker than most triples with a moderate thin white head, good condition and lots of yeast chunks in suspension. Complex aromas of alcohol, oranges, caramel, malt and a strangly sugary homebrew note that is explained on the label (but only in German) by the inclusion of cane sugar in the recipe. Label also mentions coriander but this is less apparent. Bready yeast and toffee malt dominate the mouth and the finish is spicy, malty and slightly bitter with an alcoholic tingle.

A fine beer from an excellent beer producing country. FastEddie (183), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Nose is yeasty with dried fruits, apricot, orange. Slightly syrupy. Nice flavors of sweet and tart fruits. Banana, dark berry. Warming, not overbearing alcohol. Decent hop bite. Very nice tripel. Decants a hazy roiled honey-copper ale with Billowy white cap that reduces after a few sips to a lace-making ring.
Soft carbonation.
Aroma of succulent fruits, treacle, spices and sweet bread with some resinous undertones and some fusil alcohol.
Wonderful rounded mouth feel to this with abundant complexity in the flavour profile; raisin bread, caramel, orange rind, earthy tones, sharp resinous hopping, all mingling in balance. Finish is lingering and warming with a fruity-cake dominance.
A nice abbey triple done by a commercial brewer, I look forward to seeing how the 2 bottles I cellared will taste in a year or two.
