| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2004 Poured a dark copper color with a quickly diminishing head. There was always some foam however from it being so efferevesent. Aroma of fruit, alcohol, and maybe a little cardboard. Flavor is sweet and lightly fruity with spice and alcohol on the back end. Medium bodied and fizzy on the tongue. A good amount of banana aroma is noted as this beer warms. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Updated: Sep 17, 2006duvel tulip glass: dark copper body. very rocky and tight white head. medium to full body - more so, medium. slightly cremey palate rides a spicy and refreshing banana-like fruitiness. sweet and smooth while a little bit yeasty. a crisp, smooth, and mild belgian indeed. i really like it. / UPDATE: big ol’ plaster-ceramic type pottery style bottle bought imported in okinawa, japan... same beer; been sampling a lot recently, don’t want to add any new insights, but only that the bottle was different. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2007 bottle - Pours cloudy amber with a substantial head and a sweet, yeasty aroma. It’s lively on the palate and sweet in flavor with the yeast apparent and not much alcohol noticeable. It struck me as oddly thin for a tripel, which was the main negative point. This beer is a good one, but I’ve definitely had better tripels. emacgee (1884), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 4, 2009 Pours a hazy amber with a two finger frothy offwhite head. The nose is very fruity, estery, lots of yeast character, spicy. The flavor is earthy upfront, prominent Belgian character, spicy, a little sweet, fruity, plum, alcohol starts to show. Palate is crisp and well carbonated, dry.
