Light head maintained with continued carbonation. Very mellony aroma with background candy sugar scents. Spicey and zesty up front. Mellon taste in the finish mixed with light yeast notes and alcohol pockets. Very dangerous and easy to swallow. Voivod (304), Como, Italy

Really good flavour, with traces of apple and other fruits. A touch of bitterness in the aftertaste. This is probably the sweetest tripel I've ever tried. A pleasant beer, but not as complex and delicate as the others Trappist beers. ToolHead (235), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 20, 2004 Koningshoeven, 75cl bottle, coded 12:56 K24J2, $6.99. Amber colored, poured with big head, fades to chunky collar, well carbonated & laced. Fruity(nectarines?) sweet malt aroma, some phenols, some sort of thick mustiness, almost woody or like an old cellar smell, good complexity in the nose. Thick, sweet, spicy palate. Flavor kind of goes downhill from the aroma, sweet & spicy, but somehow still a bit bland...dunno, just not as big, complex...as I’d hope. Overall a fun tripel on the sweet side, I keep it on hand b/c my girlfriend really enjoys it, but it isn’t on the top of my list for luxury drinking. Not a bad price though. Not quite as good as the quad but easily better than the other two offerings from this brewery. Alcoholic aroma with hints of cream and red fruit. Similar notes in the flavour too. Something very strawberries and cream about it which I find rather enjoyable. Finish is brief with a tiny amount of hoppage which quickly turns bitter then gives a good sized kick of alcohol right at the death. Not bad. FLnative80 (174), Orlando, Florida, USA

Very sweet aroma of malt, raisin, and spice. Dry texture. Flavor is sweet with an average bitter, yeasty finish of good duration. Nice amount of noticeable alcohol.
