Dark, hazey, amber pour, with a big but dissipating quickley head. It has a fruity apple peachy nose. Its sweet with malt and fruit flavors and a slightly bitter hops finish. Tripel's aren't really my fortee, but I still enjoyed it.

BB 2/95... Poured a hazy brownish orange color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, honey, orange citrus, and light yeast. Taste of vanilla and caramel malt, yeast, citrus, and a touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel was nearly flat.

Pour is a deep dark almost tan. Nice size white head foams after the pour. Aroma is nice an musty almost like a dry wine. Flavor is sweet, fruity and a dash of honey. Nothing really overpowers though and this one is quite bland. I will still try the dubbel and quad though. The good thing about this brew is the price. Probably the cheapest trappist out there.

duvel tulip glass: dark copper body. very rocky and tight white head. medium to full body - more so, medium. slightly cremey palate rides a spicy and refreshing banana-like fruitiness. sweet and smooth while a little bit yeasty. a crisp, smooth, and mild belgian indeed. i really like it. / UPDATE: big ol’ plaster-ceramic type pottery style bottle bought imported in okinawa, japan... same beer; been sampling a lot recently, don’t want to add any new insights, but only that the bottle was different.

(Bottled, 0.33l) Slightly hazy, golden-amber color with a smallish, but lasting, slightly lacy head. Very fruity, citrusy, sweetish-candy-caramely aroma with some acidity and alcohol. Neutral, fruity flavor with some acidity (especially in the finish), and lots of grainy malt. Alcohol is better hidden in the flavor. Quite full-bodied palate with pretty low, but somewhat sharp carbonation. A fruity and full-bodied, but slightly sharp, alcoholic and acidic triple. Lacks in the complexity department, too. (Bottled, 0.75l, rated Jul 15, 2005, BBE 07/2007, was 7-4-7-4-14=3.6) Clear, dark reddish amber color with a smallish, lasting head. Very earthy, moldy and yeasty, alcoholic aroma with toffee hints. Earthy-malty, yeasty and slightly sugary flavor. Medium-bodied, dryish palate with a quite high carbonation. An earthy tripel, slightly spoiled by the alcohol and carbonation. (Bottled, 0.33l, rated Nov 24, 2003, was 8-5-6-3-14=3.6) Extremely beautiful, dark orange color with reasonable, almost white head. Strong, yeasty, alcoholic aroma. Quite subtle and neutral, soft but alcoholic taste with some sweetness. At first very drinkable, but changes towards the end of bottle as alcohol begins to taste through.

Coppery colored, little white head. Lively carbonation. Aroma has good spices with hoppy, floral, caramelly and fruity touch, mild alcohol also there. Medium to full bodied. Crispy palated. Flavor is more alcoholic with spices and lemon, also some bitter hops there. Aftertaste lasts with medium alcohol and some sweet caramel.
