Color was a rusty orange with a thin off white head that vanished quikly. Nose was very fruity with some banana, nutmeg and clove spices. Beer was very fruity in taste and had a bittersweet finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Konings bottle- Light malty and heavy yeast aroma. Dark cloudy amber, dark honey color. Very much like a remember the quad. A little sweet, a little fruity, maybe thick oragne and plummy with some light spice. Alc is well hidden. Pleasent mouth feel, easy to drink. Good, but not elite. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2007 Nicely done belgian ale. Fruity, a bit sweet, and well rounded. Unspectacular, but solid. TOSG55 (75), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2008 Bottle (labeled as Koningshoeven Tripel). Pours a slightly cloudy orange, with minimal yeast sediment, and a thick head with large bubbles, which dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is Belgian yeast and muted citrus. The yeast is the most prominent flavor; also apparent are citrusy fruits and some spices. The 8% ABV is quite apparent, and less well-balanced than one would hope. The mouthfeel lacks the creamy yet sharp aspect of many Belgian Tripels. Overall, a fine beer, but there are plenty of better examples of the style. ARMed (486), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2003 A belgium ale aroma abounds. The apperarance is a golden slighlty hazy brew with a slight carbonation with a nice fluffy light head that slow dissapates. The flavor is a bitter sweety honey flavor with a smooth aftertaste and a rich finish. The alcohol finish is evident. Stong palate with an evident spice. Overall I like the distinctive taste and the subtle flavor that abounds.
