Commercial Description:
Brewed at the Florida Beer Co, Melbourne, under license. La tropical represents a full-bodied beer with a strong, clean import taste, that provides a pleasant drinking experience. Its rich body leaves delicate patterns of "Brussels lace" (small bubbles of foam) in the glass, an indicative o the high quality and freshness of La Tropical.

[927-20071206] 355mL. Sweet vegetable sugar cane aroma. Clear, light pink orange body with a quick foamy white head. Pineapple and sweet corn sugar flavour. Light body. Really interesting to try.

Bottle. Nose is loads of corn. Clear pale yellow. Bland flavor, unoffensive but not noteworthy except for its accuracy in immitating a poorly made South/Central American pilsener.

Had this on 3/4/2006. No aroma. Color is a very light yellow with good carbonation a ok head. Taste is weak and thin with a bit of skunk in it. Its just a weak Pilsner.

Green 12oz bottle. clear, diluted, yellow appearance. Super skunk aroma. Flavors of malt and corn. Very balanced. Kinda to light bodied. Slight hop presence in the finish.

Purchased at Beverage Castle, Tampa, Poured this one cold to get that hot weather lawnmower experience. Pours clear diluted gold with thin bright white head. The aroma is mostly skunk with a vague sweetness. The first thing I notice is just how cold it is. I’ve got it somewhere in the lower 40’s. In the taste I get floral hops mixed with sugary sweetness. Then there’s mild vague hop bitterness. There is also a refreshing lack of corn flakes in the flavor that a lot of US macro type “beers” have in abundance. Overall this beer is too much sugary sweetness that builds to a fever pitch.

Limited distribution. Really don’t see this one much outside of a Cuban restaurant, which thankfully there are plenty of here in Florida. This one is not a bad pilsener. Nothing outstanding about it, but very drinkable and refreshing. Pour is clear golden color with a decent amount of carbonation and a small white head. Aromas are grassy and herbal hops, with a bit of fresh corn malt (not the stale corn aroma common in many of the cheap pale lagers). Taste is similar to the aroma, with a clean finish. A nice little pilsener that is very drinkable.

Golden yellow with a decent size white head. Aroma has notes of corn and light hopping. Flavor is a bit sweet. Long, smooth finish. Not great, but would do the trick in the Cuba.
