I bought this because it says "Cuba" all over it. So I just noticed on the bottle that it's made in Florida. Just another pils.

Okay, so there is this guy who is in medical school with me and he is from Miami. He is half Cuban and half Jamacian. So I ask him, what is the best Cuban-ish beer that I can get in the states. He suggested this stuff and...

time for a rerate...

is it just a regular ol pils. Nothing too exciting here.

I'll have to agree with Austinpowers in that I find this one far better than its ratings imply. A very smooth pils and almost a creamy flavor with a little sweetness, as well. The nose lacks a little potency, but overall this is a nice brew.

Did you ever pick up a really cheap swill beer from some foreign country (or from the US for that matter) and you just KNOW it’s going to suck. You try it because you believe in the old football adage that ’On any given Sunday...’, hoping that somehow this beer in your hand from French Guyana, or Mozambique or wherever will beat the odds and not totally suck. And whaddaya know, it actually turns out to be good! Such was my experience with this beer. A malty, easy-drinking surprise with ample flavor and a mild sweetness that really shines through. I could easily drink a few more. Viva la revolucion!

Hot weather beer. An occasional beer when I lived in Miami. Otherwise, not much to recommend it.

Light malty and vegetal hop aroma, fairly typical. Bright golden yellow color, very effervescent and a pretty decent head. Flavor has some lightly sweet maltiness and some lightly bitter hops, and the finish is a tad spicy. As the description says, the lacing is pretty good, for a Pils. Aftertaste is not really there, flavor fades quickly. Overall, not too shabby. As testament to it’s drinkability though, I had finished the bottle inside of 5 minutes. Balance is actually better than expected.

Actually, I would have to side with the bro on this one and say that this beer is on the upper end of pilseners...by no means a blue paddle though. It is the second best green bottle beer (Aass Bock). Very little skunk, clean and sweet. I would describe this beer as pleasant.

As a random pilsner that I had never heard of, I wasn’t expecting much more than another skunky lager. But this was surprisingly good, with a nice fruity aroma that lasted straight through to the aftertaste. Smooth, clean, nice finish. I know that I’m completely going against the other raters, but despite it’s lack of complexity, I wouldn’t mind another!
