| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 6, 2004 A rather unremarkable beer. Nothing offensive about but nothing to distingush it from any other massproduced beer. Just plain average. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Pours gold, with aroma and taste of malt, some hops, some slight fruit, and a slightly smooth, crisp finish. I could drink more than one of these, which says a lot about the US/Canadian macro-swill. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 19, 2004 Labatt’s "50" has been around longer than my grand dad has. It was the slosh of my college days. Drank gallons of it. Awfully bland fizzy stuff. Of all the commercial Canadian ales (okeefe, golden, toby, kakabeka, redcap) this is the least like an ale. It actually tates like a slightly bitter lager with lots of carbonation.
Pours a light gold, heads weakly... disappearing quickly. Aroma is slightly sour but so weak it’s overpowered by he smell of CO2. Start is crisp and slightly bitter with watery malt tastes....quick sweet finish.
Is it ale or lager...I dunno but it’s great if you like belching. GregClow (2496), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Jun 26, 2004 Had this on tap at an event I attended at the Labatt/Interbrew headquarters in Toronto. Light golden colour, slightly darker than most of their lagers. A hint of bready malt in the aroma. Watery body, bland flavour with the expected corn notes. Short & dry finish. A touch better than Blue, but still crap. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 15, 2004 I just liked the green label. Mine was called Labatt Candian Ale. Light gold color with a small head. Looks like a pilsner in my glass. Has a malty asparagus smell. Light taste. Nothing offensive about this, but nothing to make it stand out either. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 31, 2004 Bottle - Golden amber in color with a thin whitish head. A very slight amount of hops in the aroma. Only slight hop and malt in flavor. A small step above the American macros, but not much. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA

If I suck up and say all sorts of nice things then those maple leaf sporting guys will all be my friend and send me beer, right? Mmmmm good! (at least in being rather bland and nondememo it lessens its ability to greatly offend) beanmedic (324), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
