| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 20, 2002 This was the first beer I have ever drank. It’s not bad for a corn brew. Although I heard it could be rice as well. It does have that ’labatt’s’ taste under tone to it. Which I taste in pretty much all of their beers.(maybe they shouldn’t use the same vat for everything) It is an okay beer for a widely available commercial brew. I got the following from a friend of mine who really wanted to rate the beer.
’Tonight I am sampling 12 bottles of Labatt’s 50, this fine beer features preservatives and 5.0% alcohol. Twelve of them usually gets you drunk. It has a nutty/ass flavor, and after 3 or 4 will eventually go down smooth. It’s well complemented by cigarettes and internet porn. I would rate this x out of y. It is beer in the most ambiguous sense of the word. I’ll probably sample more tomorrow, for to truly know a beer one must sample many batches over several years. It’s a wonderful excuse to take up alcoholism.’

| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Dec 10, 2002 Standard macro aroma, but with a little more malty, citrusy sweetness. No head. Light straw color. High fizziness and light watery body. Pretty bland in taste. Bitter adjunct finish and after. Doesn’t have much to offer in taste or enjoyment. | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Dec 4, 2002 Uh, I guess this is slightly worse than regular Labatt’s. I don’t know why. Maybe it was what I ate with it, or when I had it, or something. I just didn’t like it. Then again, I like to eat french fries with mustard. CapFlu (3483), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 1, 2002 As opposed to many of the comments, I actually like this common beer more than most Canadian brews. I can’t help but think of sitting in a cold arena bench watching a Junior "AAA" hockey game in Chicoutimi. A good backcountry beer... whatever that means? mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
