The nose is a slight hint of malt. The palate, such as it is, is a bit of copper maltiness and a mild hint of weedy hops. Not good enough to be terrible. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Jun 4, 2008 A typical boring blonde ale that pours a dull orangeish colour with a full head with a large malted mouthfeel. A slightly bitter finish with a grainy aftertaste. dkazuk (247), winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Clear golden yellow pour with a small white head that bubbles off shortly. Taste of very restrained alcohol, yeast, and malts but a little less so on the nose. No "dryness" or "unique hop flavouring" as is stated. Something a bit different, coming from a name like Labatt but not terribly good. fredthecat (195), Canada

A light caramel/amber color with a smallish foamy head. The aroma is somewhat sweet with traces of floral hops, grain, and maybe even just a touch of banana. The taste straightforward, if not simple. Rather dry, some hops, a hint of corn and maybe just a bit of fruitiness. The finish is clean, and is actually quite refreshing. If you’re going to buy from a macrobrewer, this is probably one of the better selections you’ll come across in North America (Boston’s Sam Adams line being the only one that comes to mind better than this offering). Doesn’t come close to touching most micros, but readily available and not too shabby. ccga235 (1), Kincardine, Ontario, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Feb 15, 2008 I remember watching my Grandfather drink Labatt 50 when I was younger. He really enjoyed his beer. He had to sneak them out of the cold storage since my Grandmother wouldn’t let him have too much. He was diabetic, so he had to watch what he drank and ate. He’d only have a couple each night, but the smile on his face and the 50 label tilting back as he took a drink is what I remember most about him. Now when it comes to myself, I like my beer also. I drink a little more than my Grandfather did, but every time I drink a Labatt 50, I always have a smile. Because I always think about my Grandfather. tomthompson89 (1488), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
