Canadian macro brew, tastes adjuncty and factory fresh. Heavy hop character as far as cheap North American beer goes, making it a fairly acceptable session beer, but certainly nothing more. 12oz. bottle from Upstate NY.

This beer is best served ICE COLD in the dog days a humid Quebec summer. Best enjoyed with old Italian immigrants, who only drink beer with dinner it is this hot. An Everyman beer that even a sophisticated palatte would savour on a hot day.

Bottle. Body is golden with a pretty nice, fluffy and white head. Aromas are a little skunky and a little spicey... maybe Saaz hops are used? Then you take a sip and realize that it is, in fact, pretty mediocre. Corn-based sweetness and some of that skunky hops funk to finish. Ho hum...

light yellow gold beer with a thin white head, similiar smell from other ales, strong malt, liked it, probably one of my favorite from Labatt

So...you’ve never tried this beer? Lucky for you, I’m here with the info you need. Many people over the years have come to me seeking answers about beer. Answers to questions like "what about this beer?" and "where can I buy beer?" and more importantly "who stole my beer?". All 3 questions have been asked of me regarding Labatt 50. Normally I am pretty cynical about generic beer like this, but 50 and I have a long time bond that deserves more than me just saying that it tastes like recycled urine. It’s pretty good...its got a full flavour and little aftertaste. You can get it at any pub that caters to those indie rock college kids. Who stole your beer? Christ, man. I don’t know. It’s an ale...oh, and don’t order it in French, you sound all weird.

For some reason this beer isn’t sold around Cincinnati. Since the last time I had this beer was at my old college town back in the day, I picked up a 6 pack at Kenny Road Market while in Columbus. The beer is inexplicably labeled "Labatt Canadian Ale"--didn’t used to use an alias for US comsumption--and was in 11.5 ounce bottles. Would it kill the megabrewer to give us the extra 1/2 ounce? Anyway, the beer has a minimal head and lacing, clear golden color, good malt and hop balance with the hops actually having a little bite. Smooth and easy to drink although a little light for an ale. A very good starter beer for those seeking to move beyond BMC, and a good hot weather refresher.

Bouteille 341ml.

Not bad, actually better than I expected. Nice hop flavor with some malt and hop and corn aroma. Medium gold colour, with little head.
