I must say it is very similar to other Canadian lagers however that being said it is up near the top of that class , Labatt makes it so it tastes a little like Blue and Schooner lager. Light body with the slightest floral aftertaste. That is how I like most beer uncomplicated. If you are not in Newfoundland Blue Star is a rare treat. gord (36), harbour grace, Newfoundland, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Pours a crystal clear yellow color with a big fluffy white head. Smell is a little corny with hints at some grassy hops and the faintest little bit of toasted malt. Flavor is mostly sort of grassy bitter hops and some watered down malts. Carbonation is pretty nice, medium to high range, and it is a bit watery. It’s no Jockey Club, but it’s a solid session beer. superdude1979 (61), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Poured out a weak yellow gold beer with light carbonation, a thin white cap and decent lacing. Aroma was of sweet malts but had somewhat of an acrid, unclean smell. Needs more on the aroma side because it starts to get unappealing and empty. Taste is pretty good and I can see why people can drop back dozens. I do, however, remember it tasting noticably better than this bottle. It’s definetly better warmer with the malt and decent wheat comming out. Slight bitterness as well - pretty straight forward on taste and smell. Man, this gets even better more warm. Mouthfeel is good - not quite smooth, moderately dry with a slight sweet and dry finish. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Flavour is on the sweet side. Touch of bitterness passes by. Pretty bland but mostly innoffensive. Average palate. Thanks Beermountie.
