The head dies back quickly to near nothingness. The aroma - well, just a plain old light beery aroma - bringing back memories of the first two years of college. No character, no skunkiness.
Mild malt flavor, no adjunct sicky sweetness at all. Soft spicy hops in the finish. Its been some time since I have had one of these, I was somewhat pleasantly surprised by the noticable taste of hops. Light body and mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not surprisingly, however, everything about this beer is moderate, mild, or medium.

I didn’t pour the beer on this occasion, but I’ve had Labatt Blue many times throughout the years. For some reason I used to really like this beer in college and thought that it was the best of the mainstream Canadian Lagers (I like Molson Canadian more now)... Labatt Blue is a crystal clear pale yellow color with a foamy white head. This paricular bottle seemed sweeter than usual, but the pale malts and grassy hops were still there. This beer is crisp, clean, and goes down quickly. One of the better beers to pair with pizza! Although I feel that most of the Canadian lagers are grossly overpriced, I would still take one of these over an American macro lager or light beer any day!

Better than the U.S. major lagers and have always had good times when drinking it. By no means great, by no means terrible. smartlung (154), Valrico, Florida, USA

I used to like this beer and now its pretty fowl to me - looks alot better then it tastes, had much more fond memories. swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

I really think that Americans put Canadian beers on a pedestal and consider them higher. This is just margainally better than the American beers that are of the same calibre. Frankly I would mind this less if it wasn’t for the finish and aftertaste which I found abrasive and somewhat offensive. SGTHibbert (100), Perry, Iowa, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 28, 2006 Drank this after Moosehead. Much Better. Very smooth and refreshing. Nose of bread or cookies, and caramel. Taste of brown sugar. No head, artificial. Good tasting, but gets low points for being to simple. SoylentBlack (100), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
