TearsforBeers (170), Ohio, USA Jan 22, 2009 On tap at LBC.
It pours lightly hazy orange-ish yellow with a small amount of white head.
The aroma is of citrusy, earthy, american hops, and soap.
The flavor is immediately earthy, piney, citrusy hops and later reveals a pretty good malt backbone. The mouthfeel is thin but refreshing. Overall, the bitterness makes this beer more DIPA like, but the lower alcohol and lesser amount of malt keeps it from reaching that territory. This is good stuff. CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Dec 30, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. I’m conflicted about this example. A heavy, raw green hop character dominates both the nose and the flavor. Edges into some Simcoe-like lemon and cat character. I pegged this for a Double IPA. Pours a very pale golden, hazed with some white head. Feels like it could use more flavor hops and much, much more body to back. I like the hop flavor and character, but it gets a little coarse and overly bitter. One of the better beers here, but a little unbalanced, raw, green and unbridled. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 27, 2008 Sample at 2008 Indy Microbrewers Fest - Aroma of grassy hops, straw and pale malt. pours transparent gold. Flavor matches aroma. Palate is crisp and tart. Not bad. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2008 on tap-pours a white ring for a head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is slightly sweet citrus-grapefruit/pine hops, medium malt = 0 . Taste is slightly sweet citrus-grapefruit/pine hops, slight light/medium malt. Nice. Mild carbonation.
Block (363), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Aug 8, 2008 Updated: Aug 9, 2008Part of the sampler. Light orange color and smelled of hops. Taste of citrus and hops. Really smooth with a strong yet very smooth hop finish. PhysZac (69), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA Mar 30, 2008 Draft. I was told it’s not an IPA because of the light body, but sure as hell tastes like one to me. Aroma is nice. Very floral, some pleasant fruit, slight spice, and good amount of citrus. Taste is waaay unbalanced, towards bitter, but somehow works really nicely. Lots of citrus, but still somehow balanced. Long finish of hops, but not unpleasant. I like this one a lot. Very surprised at the quality of offerings at LBC. Tmoney99 (4655), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jan 25, 2008 Draft sample and pint at LB brewpub. Poured a hazy golden/amber color with a large fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate floral sour citrus aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a good drinkable brew. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 04/26/2007

clear copper, scant head, big sweet citrus and pine aroma, thin body, lots of liquid hop flavor with the citrus and pine in balance and leading to a long bitter finish, touch of caramel malt sweetness supports the hop flavor rater than balances it, it’s all about the hops
