CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Dec 30, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Aroma presents a yeast and spice melange, with some peculiar sugar notes. Pours a real vibrant red-orange, with little head. Flavor is a bit of a mess, wafting from indescriminate Christmas spice to fading dead Belgian yeast to a bit of caramel malts and some dust. Way too sweet. Sticky. Not really palatable. Ends up in an old fruit cake note. Not really that quaffable. Ends with some faint tart wildness that isn’t entirely desirable and hints at infection.
