CharlesDarwin (1823), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Dec 30, 2008 On cask at the brewpub. Aroma presents a dead caramel malt aroma. Pours in a nice, cascading caramel, lightly hazy. Flavor is a mess. Isovaleric, cheese and dead yeast. Not a good flavor. There’s not nearly enough hop flavor and way too little bitterness. This is not enjoyable. Wet, buttery, and dead-tasting. The palate holds up in the cask form, but doesn ’t matter, since the flavor is kind of icky. Finishes in some raisins, dust and grass. Not well done. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2008 on tap-pours a white head and gold color. Aroma is faint light citrus hops, medium malt. Taste is medium malt, mild light citrus hops. An easy session PA.
Block (363), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Aug 11, 2008 I had this one as part of the sampler and really liked part, probably in part due to the contrast of the other beers offered. Yellow-orange color with almost no head when I got it. Aroma of citrus hops and flavor of citrus and hops with light malt body. Really smooth. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA May 12, 2008 tap. cask at brewry. golden/copper pour with thin forthy head. lacing. fresh citrus hops, sweet caramel aroma. smooth and creamy. nice fresh hops with average malt backing. a little thin. enjoyable. Tmoney99 (4659), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jan 31, 2008 Draft sample and pint at LB brewpub. Poured a hazy copper/orange color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate floral sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a drinkable brew. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 10/16/1998

DrnkMcDermott (1832), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 16, 2006 Cask sampler at LBC Slightly orangey hop flavor actually works well against the light carbonation of this cask pour. IPA character is not overwhelming, instead it’s a bit sweet and chewy, something like a caramel. Later on, there’s a more pronounced citrus and pineapple hop note. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Oct 8, 2003 Orange/amber with nice hoppy nose. Caramel maltiness is faint. This would be a lot better with more malt presence because the hops is citrusy and bitter at the finish. Thin body.
