12oz. bottle, with thanks to dchmela for the bonus! Pours a clear orange golden with a large off-white head that just sits there like a root beer float, great lacing as it slowly recedes. Aroma is some spicy pine with a little caramel malt in the background, and some belgian yeast that doesn’t quite fit. Flavor is a little off, with some pine, caramel and more odd belgian yeast. Not too hoppy, and the belgian yeast influence doesn’t seem to fit quite right. Thanks again Dave!

floral nose with some pine. dark amber color. chewy malt is evident despite ultra cold serve. plenty of pine to back it up. one of the most well balanced IPA from any source in recent history!

2009 Bottle - Thanks dchmela! - Pours a murky amber with a small off white head...aroma is oily and rich, touch of coffee, floral hops and some sweetness around the edges, crazy almost belgian influence in the yeast as well...flavour is, well, not my favourite...grassy grain, the same oily taste from the nose, nicely bitter, but the flavour is out of left field...is that what noble hops taste like? Might just be my first exposure, but it takes on an almost uric quality that I just don’t enjoy...interesting though...

Draft… Cloudy amber/orange ale with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. The aroma is nutty and a tad chocolaty with a nice dose of hops, but I can’t tell what type. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. The flavor is malt-heavy, but plenty bitter and lightly acidic. Crisp, bitter finish.

On tap at Stubbies in Gainesville, FL. Pours a hazy light amber with a small, white head that has okay retention and little lacing. Aroma is very vinegary with a background of rotting citrus. Taste is not refreshing caramel malt and citrus hops like an IPA but rather is all nutty bitterness with burnt biscuit. Not sure if this even counts as an IPA. Poorly executed. An IPA with Noble hops just sounds like a bad idea in the first place. Stick with the three C’s.

Draft at the brewery. Like the Minnehaha Golden Ale before it, this one was just kegged and showed quite a bit of yeasty agitation, lending a very cloudy appearance. Dark burnt orange in color, the body is crowned with a quickly fading, cream colored head. Micro-spot lacing dots the glass randomly. The aroma showed notes of toasted biscuit and cookie malts, with a grassy citrus hop overtone there to lend balance. Flavors follow suit, again proving quite malty and nicely toasted, yet sufficiently balanced by the grassy hop billing. Definitely drinks more like an English style pale than anything. Medium bodied, with moderate to lively carbonation, the palate shows a bit of unfortunate astringency on the grassy, biting finish. Unique and decent.

the most highly antisipateted beer from Lagniappe. An IPA with all noble hops, i love the idea. Big spicy aromas, with cereal grain notes, grassy earthiness. Pours cloudy golden with a little to no head? Earthy, spicy hops, bitter soil, piney grassy notes in the flavor. I’m considering liking this one. I like the different hop flavors, still not sure if it is an IPA?

on tap-pours a light tan head and cloudy/murky orange/brown color. Aroma is mild earthy, then some peach/lemon/orange. Taste is earthy hops with some bitter, some citrus. Overly English for me. [OK, from description, European]
