Commercial Description:
A refreshingly light, yet very complex flavor gives this one a very european 'Savoir Faire'. From Lagunitas Brewing: "The style of this one is tough to pinpoint--we rarely brew beers to fit any particular style. Saison is pretty close-- we used Westmalle yeast on a nice light ale, and the result is what we like to call an Uzbeki Raga Ale." Tony at Lagunitas calls this a "pumped-up version of our highly-touted Lagunator."

Note: 2004 edition was 7.7% ABV, 2006 is 6.6%.

Incredibly clear, crisp golden yellow color with a frothy white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, and spice. Taste matches the aroma... very saison-like. Refreshing and easy to drink. Really hit the spot on this humid, 85 degree evening.

Golden color with plenty of bubbles and a medium white head. Taste is pleasant with hops, grain, citrus, malts, and some spices. Pretty much all that you would expect in a beer. Nothing outstanding, but well balanced and easy to drink.

Pours pale yelow w/ shallow spritzy froth. Aromas of fresh hops and banana malt. Medium nectar w/ soft residual effers. Flavors remind me of the Tripel style. Fruity, banana, honey, cream, spice, granola malt, with a nice sharp bittering on the finish that lingers. Finish is long on flavor. If you can’t find Lefe, buy this one. Highly recommended.

Bottle: Clear dark yellow pee in color, with a small white head. Aroma, spicy, yeasty, some pale malt sneaking through. Flavor, light and bready, some spice to it. (I just pulled a matt *TBC2* and stuck my nose in the beer) sweet and a little spicy on the finish. A nice light carbonation, light bodied, very refreshing. Definitely a summer type beer.

Pours a clear golden hue with a white head. Aromas of raisins, honey, straw and grape juice. Medium bodied. Smooth, flat with a straw/hay earthy flavor.

Pours a muted golden/orange color with a thin light beige head atop. Spotty lacing through the whole glass. Banana and wheat aromas are present, along with a bit of citrus. Light body with a light yeast character. Banana and spice flavors show up here and there as well, but not with much authority. The finish is fruity and yeasty with a touch of hops lingering. Slightly above average all around.

Meh, a decent belgian. Lagunitas never once impressed me, but they have never let me down either. Nose is similar to a pilsner, yeast, and brewers grains and cereal. The pour is very golden with a large foamy quickly dimishing head that leaves small amounts of lace....very small amounts. The taste is alright, not harsh and definatley remniscent of fat tire with it’s crisp, buttery finish. One for the records, I will not buy this beer again unless it’s the best thing the store carries, and even then I’ll probably check a different store.
