Commercial Description:
A refreshingly light, yet very complex flavor gives this one a very european 'Savoir Faire'. From Lagunitas Brewing: "The style of this one is tough to pinpoint--we rarely brew beers to fit any particular style. Saison is pretty close-- we used Westmalle yeast on a nice light ale, and the result is what we like to call an Uzbeki Raga Ale." Tony at Lagunitas calls this a "pumped-up version of our highly-touted Lagunator."

Note: 2004 edition was 7.7% ABV, 2006 is 6.6%.

Poured a clear straw color with a firm white head. Aroma is very light but a has some light fruit, peach, papaya and white grapes are my best approximation. Flavor is reminiscent of candy, like a well made triple but lower in alcohol. The normal belgian fruit character comes through as well. Texture is creamy and semi sweet. Well made, but more for a summer evening than for the heat of the daytime.

22oz bottle pours golden with a short white head that fades quickly to a ring and laces a little from there. Aromas of yeast, dough, and spice. Flavor is quite bready as well. Yeast mostly, some sweet malts too and a bit of spice on the finish. Lots of carbonation it seems. Crisp on the palate. Nothing memorable.

Not a bad summer session brew. Nothing over the top in the way of malt or hops - just a crisp, golden ale. A little yeast spice and a quickly dissipating head but a nice brew that will please even the non-converted beer geeks.

From bomber. Pours a pale clear yellow with a bubbly head. Nose is doughy with some yeast spiciness. Flavor follows. Fairly refreshing summer beer.

I have been rather fond of this brewer of late so I jumped at the opportunity to try another one of their beers. Sampled on draft at Rivertowne Inn in North Huntingdon PA this beer poured a medium golden color with a trace of a white head. The aroma is lightly sweet and tangy with a bit of alcohol. The mouthfeel is moderately thick. The flavor is vague sweet and tangy malts with a bit of a bready undertone and a tangy finish. Fairly bland.

Bready, grains and something off in the aroma. Tasted of mild yeast, hint of citrus and grains.Perhaps not having a definite style threw me off on this one. Not bad but wouldn’t buy again. There are so many other "summer" beers that are better and cheaper.

[Bottle - Liquid Solutions] A good solid Belgian Ale. A nice golden color and a great flavor. Easy to drink and awesome for after mowing the lawn. Liked the aroma and off flavors got a slight fruitness to this brew.

22 oz bottle: Picked this up at Whole foods because my wife doesn’t like hoppy beers, so I figured this would be good for both of us to enjoy. Boy, did we ever enjoy this one! What a great surprise....To call this a "belgian ale" is a joke....Maybe it was as #9, but #10 looks or tastes nothing like a belgian ale, other than a initial belgian yeasty flavor.. So, that may be throwing off some of the ratings on this one, which are rediculously low, in my opinion. At any rate, this is a nice, fruity golden ale, that is hoppy, but very mild. If anyone has had Reaper ales Inevitable ale, this is similar, if not better. A great beer for a summer day.
