Commercial Description:
A refreshingly light, yet very complex flavor gives this one a very european 'Savoir Faire'. From Lagunitas Brewing: "The style of this one is tough to pinpoint--we rarely brew beers to fit any particular style. Saison is pretty close-- we used Westmalle yeast on a nice light ale, and the result is what we like to call an Uzbeki Raga Ale." Tony at Lagunitas calls this a "pumped-up version of our highly-touted Lagunator."

Note: 2004 edition was 7.7% ABV, 2006 is 6.6%.

22 oz boittle. Rich golden color with a long lasting big white head. Nose of spices and yeast with complex but pleasing flavors. Citrus overtones. Very smooth and well balanced. Good from front to back. How these people keep churning out such great craftbrews is beyone me but this is another winner from Lagunitas.

Thanks santa. Bomber, poured a clear yellow, big fizzy head that left very nice lacing. Nose was spice and yeast. Interesting I got spice and black peper in this. and citris and yeast. This was a different kind of summer brew.

Bottle. Amber color with a nice white head. Crisp yeasty aroma with some earthy spice. Nice balance. Flavor has a lot going on - fruity (peach), some grain, some earthiness, some herbal tones - a lot of saison-like qualities. Only problem is, the beer gets tiring. Small sample would score better.

Bottled. Light copper color with a white head. Yeasty aroma...Belgian.. not what I expected. Phenolic and malty sweet.

This is for #10. Bottle. Golden hue with a medium frothy white head. Nose is spicy and yeasty with dried fruit, light candyish notes and citrus. Taste is very similar. Big spiciness, lots of Belgian yeast, mild sweet malts, light candied fruit flavors, and flowery hops. Milder lemony notes as well. Body is medium and has moderate carbonation feel and a lingering efferevescence. Bit of dryness towards the end. Finishes just as spicy and yeasty as it began. Light lemon peel, bubblegummy notes, sweet malts, light flowery notes. Not bad.

#10 - 22oz bottle
Smells very appealing, very fresh, with the coriander and lemon scented Belgian yeast. Big, billowy foamy head on top of a crystal clear deep yellow body. Light and fresh tasting, some cloves and light soapy yeast. Creamy texture, crisp on the tongue and empty on the finish. A good beer, very drinkable while sitting next to the lake on a warm summer day.
