Better than the previous beer, Monty Python. Good for hot day as well. Tap, Park Slope, Brooklyn. HopasaurusRex (195), Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 20, 2005 Nothing too crazy or exciting about this beer, but a nice summer beer that would be a great vehicle to a nice summer buzz. Almost like a high class malt liquor, if I had to describe it to somebody. I’d love more hop flavor and aroma, but other than that its great for me. SDalkoholic (1192), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Sparkles a glimmering gold with minor carbonation bubbles. The head was short lived and broke down to tiny patches of foam. Nose is somewhat weak and contains evidence of grass, malt and a touch of hops. In the flavor, the same as the aroma can be said about it with additional grain and more sweet malt character that is easy drinking. Also has a slight yeast hang up followed by clove and herbs of some sort. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2005 Bottle. Pours clear, orangey-golden color with a small white head that diminishes rapidly leaving a trace of lacing. Aroma is sweet, orange, coriander and pepper spice and a little bready. Flavor is crisp, sweet, citrus and yeast with a pleasant fruity-peppery finish. Light to medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice psuedo belgian style and pleasant to drink. Expecting more of an IPA per the "beer man" I poured and was quite surprised to find an overly spiced, banana, clover, nutmeg belgian beer. It was just a little too much for me though, and actually ended up being somewhat of a drainpour for me. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2005 pours a very clear off yellow color w/ champagne like bubles and a frothy white well laced head. Smells of belgian yeast pears pepper nutmeg and maybe even some bannnana. Palate is well carbonated ok coating a bit thin. Flavor is spiced nutmeg and pepper definate belgian yeast slightly sweet but mostly spiced. A very odd flavor I will probably have to re-rate as I haven’t decided on whether I like it or not yet. Thanks to Blake for sharing. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Poured from a bomber. This beer pours to a thick creamy, foamy white head atop a golden body. Decent lacing. The aroma is Belgian, spicy, pepper, citrus, mace. The flavor, unfortunately, is kinda weak for a Belgian. Spicy, malty, but not very potent. Kinda disapointing. The oalate is medium bodied. The palate is decent. calivania (62), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2005 A classic beer geek’s summer beer. Comes off as a wierd cross between a classic belgian and those English summer brews that are increasingly popular. Citrus and spice in the nose, but there is plenty of malt there too, more then you would expect. Tangy, giving way to a spicy grain. A bitterness in the finish, that like almost everything here is a pleasant surprise. A significant beer from an important brewer.
