Nice, sweet fruity aroma of soft, fleshy fruit like peaches, lemons, doughy bread, orange zest, floral perfume, fruity esters and a touch of earthiness. The body is light and refreshing, easy to drink and thirst quenching. The flavor is well balanced with a nice fruity sweet component up front, a light tart element in the middle and a very mild bitter kick in the finish. All in all, a tasty offering that’s not unlike a mild English bitter combined with an estery, ever so slightly funky Belgian ale. Perhaps even a bit wheat mixed in. Truly refreshing and, I can only imagine, splendid on a warm summer afternoon. hopdog (5611), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Excellent mouthfeel and subtle, spicy Belgian nectar. This isn’t mind blowing, but very satisfying and delectable. Very enjoyable. Ungstrup (15382), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Lightly hazed dark straw color with a tall dense white head with speckles of lace. Mild malt and light floral aromas, nothing complex or rich, but quite pleasant. Initial dry pale malt envelopes the senses. Followed by light fruit and touch of spice. Very much a strong belgian blond ale. Has a mild woody spice linger that distracts a touch. This is the way I like some of my brews. Not a saison, not a blonde, not a triple, but has many of the qualities of these that are fun to dissect. Wish there were more of these out there. Thanks Derek! I could envision getting quite crispy with a few of these on a hot summer day! austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 10, 2004 The alcohol is pretty well hidden here, which is nice. It’s kolschish in its light crispness, but the lack of hop bite makes it milder. So, it’s sort of a Belgian Kolsch. Anyway, there’s a lot of spice in the background with citrus everywhere. Delicious. grant (792), Colorado Springs, CO, Colorado, USA

Yeasty with some belgian spice. Slightly warm aftertaste but a little thinnish and orange-tasting. Doesn’t taste like a 7.7% beer. Pretty good, but not among Lagunitas’ best.
