Commercial Description:
A refreshingly light, yet very complex flavor gives this one a very european 'Savoir Faire'. From Lagunitas Brewing: "The style of this one is tough to pinpoint--we rarely brew beers to fit any particular style. Saison is pretty close-- we used Westmalle yeast on a nice light ale, and the result is what we like to call an Uzbeki Raga Ale." Tony at Lagunitas calls this a "pumped-up version of our highly-touted Lagunator."

Note: 2004 edition was 7.7% ABV, 2006 is 6.6%.

Pours pale yelow w/ shallow spritzy froth. Aromas of fresh hops and banana malt. Medium nectar w/ soft residual effers. Flavors remind me of the Tripel style. Fruity, banana, honey, cream, spice, granola malt, with a nice sharp bittering on the finish that lingers. Finish is long on flavor. If you can’t find Lefe, buy this one. Highly recommended.

Clear, yellow, short white head that quickly subsides to a few bubbles listing on the surface. The smell is peppery and spicy, and maybe a little floral. The taste is also spicy with some lemon zest for good measure, very nice. The carbonation is a little prickly on my tongue and I like it. This is an excellent beer for a hot summer’s day. The drinkability is really good on this one. This would be an awesome candidate for a sixer. This is an excellent saison in my opinion. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-25-2007 17:03:16

Good for a summers night or day. Nice color, the smell was a little bitter, but pleasing, and the color was very nice.

Hazy pale straw color reminds me of Prima Pils. Serving in the Pilsner glass results in a beautful dense creamy foam. The nose shows Belgian fruity yeasty traits with some lemony/grassy hops and slight hints at pale malt, dough, carrot cake, iron, spice, melon, and flowers. Mild Triple characteristics. Thinnish palate with dry, plentiful carbonation leads to straightforward flavors of soft hop profile, yet assertive, mild orange rind, and solid pale malt foundation. Finishes with just enough lingering harshness to add finishing depth. This is a nice change of pace from the bland mainstream Summer offerings from which I always stay away. A damn fine Imperial Hefeweizen-Wit.

There is a lot of Belgian influence in this beer, reminiscent of a Saison. It pours a brilliant golden color with a slowly discipating white head. The aroma is a complex mix of spice (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, etc.) and citrus. Medium bodied with a creamy like texture. Flavors are a broad mix of spice and malt with underlying hints of citrus. One of the heavier summer beers I’ve had but also one of the better one’s.

Very nice saison stlye golden ale. Herbal, hoppy aroma with some hay and grass. Requisite banana flavor with less yeast than othr Begians. Very good. Thanks to FlipBrewer for the brew.

This tasted like a saison mixed with a trippel. Golden hazy body, large white head, chunky lacing. Aroma is sweet and full of spice, floral perfume. Smooth bodied, sweet malts; finish is spice and floral perfume followed by a dry hoppy ending. A very relaxing sipper.

I really enjoyed this...It reminded ME of a Crystal-Weizen...Beautiful citrus and Yeasty esters sneak up your nose with a sweet sublteness. Crystal clear Golden in color, poured a light, fluffy white head. Alcohol is non-evident in the flavor, nor the after taste...yet it's there! Notes of Orange, smooth and crisp. Would make a Great Summer beer( When it was made!) Another nice offering from 'dem Guyz up at Lagunitas! I want Another, PLEASE!
