Pours a yellow/orange in color, with a mostly diminishing off white head and excellent lacing. The aroma is hops, pine, citrus and some malt underlying. The taste is bitter, creamy very good.

Tasted 11/12/09. 22oz bomber. Filtered orange yellow hue with a moldy bone white head. Aromas of Citrus candy sugar and red berry esters. Medium bodied with a good palate. Big beer for the style. Lotta hops with a complex flavor profile. Grapefruit and grassy. Moderately tingling effervescence. Bitter with a bit of dryness. Lingers sweetly on the tongue with a hint of 7Up syrup. The malt bill starts to shine as the temp slowly rises. Bready graham malts arise. Bright with tight hop notes. Solid.

In short: A dry toasty coniferous, grapefruity, astringent and very bitter IPA calling itself a Pale Ale. Very tasty yet amazingly sessionnable.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed moderately fresh about 6 months after first rating
The look: Clear dark blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: The hoppy nose has a pleasant dry character. Aroma of coniferous, dry citrus skin and dry orange peels. Taste is mostly about the hops. The malts are discreet. Malted like a Pale Ale, hopped like an IPA, this is not really balanced and I don’t care. Dry bread crust, coniferous tree, grapefruits, high alpha acids, a little dry caramel, a little doughy. Very bitter. Also very dry for the style and with the grapefruity tartness you have yourself a seriously astringent Pale Ale. Body is a bit thin and there’s just not much to say about the malts here but it’s ok with me. I’m a huge sucker for simcoe hops and that one seems to use a lot of it. Nice beer. Great beer, but this is one that you need to drink as fresh as possible, so go and get one now while it is still fresh enough, because everybody deserves a good Correction, and if you don’t like beer you can call Mistress Natalia.

Bomber. Frothy, off-white head, mostly diminishing. The body is a deep gold. Fairly light aroma of grapefruit, resin, toasted grain, caramel and bread. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and moderately bitter with some light acidity. Medium body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. Signature Lagunitas taste comes through in the finish — that grainy, slightly dirty malt/yeast flavor — though not near as forward as it is in their American strong ales. This is a solid, easy-drinking APA.

Not bad! Very crisp and refreshing if a bit thin. Hops up front bready and chewey on the back. Good balance.

Bottle from Whole Foods Los Altos. American Pale Ale is sort of an unfair category for this - it’s more like an IPA. Pours clear golden with a two-finger cream-colored head and good lacing. Aroma is great, with citrusy and slightly floral hops, sweet malt, and tropical fruit. Flavor is sweet pale and caramel malt, balanced by grapefruit and orange hops as well as some pineapple. Some resin on the finish. A bit faded possibly from age but still tasty. Body is medium and there is quite a bit of lasting hop bitterness. Overall another solid Lagunitas offering.

Expected more hops after having the Stoopid. Nonetheless, well balance dry hopped beer with nice citric notes.

Clear amber, with a frothy head. The aroma is impressive, with floral-pine dominating. Medium body, with a flat mouthfeel. The hops carry through, without much change from the aroma.
