Light fruit and citric aromas dominate. Some grain and caramel scent in the background. THe aromas just don’t seem to mix together well. Initial grainy start. Big grassy middle, I feel like I’m mowing a lawn and fresh grass clippings are blowing into my mouth. Thin acidic finish. Some clementine and thin pine sap flavors wonder in and out. For me it seem like it could use a little more heft. A hoppy brew that I can drink, but not finding overly joyful. Kestral (210), Oslo, Norway
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark orange with a finger of offwhite head. Aroma is very fruity. Passionfruit, pineapple, oranges.. Like a mixed tropical juice. Nice. Vague sugary or honey malt notes. Flavour is refreshing, still very fruity, but with more pine and resin hop character. The malts struggle to keep it balanced, though. Body is fairly light, drinkable, carbonation is lively, but not over the top. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2009 A very nice pale ale. Aromas of orange peel, grapefruit, cascade hops with a touch of Chinook. Mouth feel is light to medium bodied with flavors of pine, citrus, and a sticky finish. A very pleasant brew. cbeers21 (583), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 10, 2009 clear copper with thin fading head. caramel and pine waft off the top. Some vanilla and sticky sugar malts are there too. nice hops presence here for the style...this seems more like an ipa...i wonder where we all draw the line. as the brew warms and opens up the thick molasses caramel notes become more prominent to smell. Nice hoppy backbone for the style. Easier to drink in the beginning but becomes a little sticky, thats not a bad thing though. Overall very nice for the style and very solid overall. illinismitty (1800), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Bottle from Friar Tucks in Savoy, IL. Pour golden amber with a one finger dissipating off white head. Citrusy aroma. Lighter side of medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of toffee-esque pale malts countered by a piney and leafy herbal bitterness. Over attenuated for my tastes. Dry hoppy finish grapefruit rind with a disruptive metallic and buttery flavors. Sorry cats, I ain’t diggin it. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Bottle from SL. The pour was an ambery yellow, typical pale ale type colored head. The aroma was earthy piney hops with some citrus shine underneath. The flavor followed with pine and citrus at the for but a firm earthy backbone that featured a little hay and semi-sweet maltiness. Body was full for a pale-ish type ale, amply carbonated but not highly. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2009 Amazing hop profile, a really nice mix of resinous pine notes and nice citrus notes. Malt notes had a slight honey note to it. A good golden hue with a nice white head that had good retention. Smooth. gringo332 (246), Richardson, Texas, USA
