Jul 6, 2009 500 mL bomber. Pours a clear, deep orange/amber with a massive, tan, rocky head that has awesome retention and leaves some incredible lacing. Aroma is citrus hops, grapefruit, orange peel, and caramel malt. Taste is very light to medium bodied with an excellent malt backbone that balances the citrusy and grapefruit hops perfectly. Subtle tinge of resiny/piney hops. Creamy, crisp mouthfeel. Very simple and beautiful. Like the label says- just an awesome beer. I wouldn’t necessarily call this an APA or IPA or whatever. Just very clean, simple, and wonderful.

Jul 6, 2009 Pours dark orange with a frothy white head. Nose is grapefruit. Taste is of grapefruit with notes of malt and pine. Nice bitter hop finish. Sharp taste for an American Pale Ale, close to an IPA. Good stuff.

Jul 6, 2009 Several 22oz bottles lately, dark orange with a bubbly white head. Aroma is grain and citrus. Flavor is grapefruit, caramel, pine, and other assorted citrus. creamy mouth feel. This season is full of Lagunitas beers and every one so far a winner.

the smells reminds me a lot of a burlap sack filled with grain... pale malt sweetness, caramel, canned orange juice, grapefruit and non resinous pine.
the pine in the flavor is a bit waxy and bitter... mixed with malty sweetness, grapefruit and lots of sticky juicy hoppy dryness on the finish.
medium to full/medium bodied with a creamy mouth feel.
simple and well executed. 8/4/8/4/16/4.0

Jul 4, 2009 Bomber. Pours clear dark gold with a one finger off-white head that results in nice lacing. The nose is sweet ripe citrus and caramel malt. The taste is more citrus and malt with some mild pine in the finish. Medium bodied. Good APA – nice and hoppy!
