Nice fruity hop aroma- clean with some spicy cascade/centennial character with notes of lemongrass, lychee and a touch of peach. Piny and resinous as well. Fluffy feel with voluminous carbonation. A smoothly sweet light caramel malt base meshes well with a citric west coast hop presence. There is just a touch of artificial sweetener in there as it warms. Some apricot fruitiness and late earthy/resiny moderately bitter finish. A solid APA overall. talon1117 (628), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Updated: Jul 16, 2009Pours a sparkling clear, orange color with a white, fairly small, frothy head which does last some time and leaves some drippy lace. The nose is interesting with pine needles, orange zest, white grapefruit, light melon, faint floral, light pepper, and some bready notes as well. Flavor is a bit of a letdown with more pepper and pine needles than the malts can support; grapefruit and orange zest start the progression while some light caramel and sweet breads support the hops initially but the moderately high bitterness takes over with pine needles and pepper being dominant. Palate is light to medium, lively, and somewhat watery. Finishes with drying bitterness and notes of pepper, light orange zest, and some dry grass. A bit of a letdown from the nose; the hops left an offputting note lingering on my tongue. Lagunitas hasn’t put out too many beers I’ve liked recently; I used to really like this brewery. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Clear orange color with a big beige head. Aroma of pine and citrus hops. Flavor of pine, grapefruit hops and some malts. Finish of grapefruit. Gypsy19 (653), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Pours a clear orange with a fluffy head that collapses quickly. Aroma is of bitter grapfruit hops and a little malty, honey sweetness. Slightly floral aroma. Flavor is hoppy, perky, but with a really dull finish. The flavor itself is pretty good, but the dead palate just kills the overall enjoyability of this in the end. Gets a little better as I drink on; Would recommend swirling this one in an attempt to get a little carbonation in there. Overall, good. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA

Clear golden amber with ring of near white head. Massive pineapple nose. Flavor is not quite as good. Grapefruit bitter finish, very fruity hop. Very nice. tgncc (840), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Awesome aroma of grapefruit, orange other citrus, and some tropical fruits as well. Some caramel and toffee in there too. This is quite pale yellow in color, a cross between the pale gold of a pilsener and the amber/gold of an APA. Good white head. The flavor follows the aroma, very citrusy, hoppy, but a fruity sweetness, and some caramel in there. The finish is grapefruit bitter, maybe a bit of resin in there. This really does seem like an IPA. Excellent beer however. And in the Lagunitas tradition, very affordable. argo0 (6982), Washington DC, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Bomber. Pours a light bright clear copper with a thin lasting head and some thin spotty lace. Aroma is pure intense tropical mango fruits, light pine and good citrus- grapefruit- resinous and dank. Flavor is just a whisp of malt and honey but then all resinous dank hops - mango and tropical a bit catty but very fresh and easily drinkable with a modest bitterness in the end. Great stuff for sure!
