Clear amber-gold with an average fizzy-creamy off-white head. Slightly sweet aroma, but mostly it’s resin/pine bitterness, a bit leafy and dry, not too boozy - really hoppy. The taste follows - acidic resin/pine (slight lemon) bitterness, backed by the bare minimum of juicy malt. Average body, a little astringency, sweet and juicy up front, but dominated by a bitter lengthy finish - really, really good - I really like this style from Lagunitas, really pushes my taste buttons. fata2683 (921), Panama City, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2009 bottle, pours gold with a tall frothy white head. Nice piney hop aroma. Sweet malt and a very nice lemon rind/hoppy bitter finish. Dry as hell and I like it. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 19, 2009 Pours a gold copper color, with a medium frothy white head. Smells of rich citric hops and caramel malts as well. Very rich and crisp smelling. Very enticing. The flavor is much like the nose, very crisp and refreshing. Hops attack you right away and then subtle out a nit in the finish. Some grapefruit and malt balance it out a bit. Nice drinking APA, quite rich with hops and very flavorful. bblack99 (214), Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Pours a bubbly orange-copper with a perfect dense off-white head. Sweet, fresh grapefruit aroma hints at the great clean hops within. Taste is matching in sweetness, with barely enough malt to balance it out and make it imminently drinkable. At only 6.3%, it’s not one of those sneaky DIPAs, but has a medium body to stand up to the sweet and bitter flavors. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Bottle: Pours an orange color with a lighter head. Bright citrus and cascade hops, some sappy grapefruit too. Decent light body with a bit of light caramel. Lots of hops in the tail, not too bitter though. Good IPA, not quite a pale though. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a clear orange with an average size diminishing creamy off-white head. Aroma smells great, with lots of resiny hops, some citrus fruit and backed by caramel malt -- I could smell this all day. Nice resiny hop flavour, simple but tasty. Long bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Great stuff! NachlamSie (1649), Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Bomber from Hop City. Given Lagunitas’ sense of humor, I figured this one was going to actually be a double IPA. However, I was not really let down. This is a light gold, barely hazy with a small white head. The aroma is grassy with lots of grapefruit, one could call it dank. The mouthfeel is light but works well here. The emphasis is on hops. Plenty of grapefruit and dank herbs throughout. My impression is a light bodied IPA. I guess that could qualify as an APA then. I really enjoyed this one. Great lighter bodied ale with plenty of tasty flavor. Lagunitas sets the bar for affordable, quality American-styled ales. Nik925 (305), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Thin, but great aroma and solid taste. More bitter than hop flavor. Solid but not amazing. glowing orange in the goblet but brackish looking in the pint glass, so appearance score is on the goblet.
