Aroma is a strong blast of citrus, loads of grapefruit, pineapple, lemon zest. Flavor matches, with a nice caramel accented malt backbone, but the focus is clearly on the juicy hops. Really tasty stuff here. BOLTZ7555 (1121), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2009 Wow...another really good one by Lagunitas. Somewhat surprised. These guys are hit or miss for me. Extremely floral with hints of raisin, citrus, and pine. Flavor is honey straight from the comb, toffee, brown sugar, caramel malt and noticeable hop presence. Crystal clear 24 karat pour with enough carbonation to ignite the palate. Really tasty. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 1/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2009 Very inviting citrus aroma with some pine. Sparkling light copper in appearance with little white head. Quite hoppy. Lots of citus and grass, mild toffee and a lingering bitterness. Pretty decent offering - I wish they’d replace their regular IPA with this. Beerlando (2353), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 21, 2009 Fresh bomber. Pours a crystal clear, medium golden-orange color with a thick, frothy head that resembles whipped egg whites. Dense cobweb lacing dries rock hard and solid, coating the glass almost entirely. The nose is fresh and inviting, notes of crisp wheat grain, light toffee, toasted bread, and perhaps just a trace of rye comprising the malt base. The bright hop profile includes citrus, peppery flowers, and hints of pine. Flavors are expertly balanced, lightly sweet, toasted, honey kissed grain malt countering the bitter, spicy citrus blossom and grassy hope. Traces of pine resin come through as well. Medium bodied and crisp, the palate is just dry enough and lively on the tongue, making for a refreshing drink. Damn good for a standard pale ale. Definitely one to drink as fresh as possible. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2009 Consumed at home from the Olde, Scratched Hourglass Pilsener of Limited Budgets and Travel. Sweet, caramelized grapefruit juice aroma. Golden ale with a big webby head. Appearance dings, since I can’t re-use the twistoff bomber bottle. Plain label. Moderately sweet, medium-strong west coast hopping, pretty drinkable. Medium mouth, with long citrus rind finish - a little soy/cereal graininess at the end too. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2009 Pours golden amber with half an inch of head that is trying to stick around as best it can. Light to medium bodied beer. Okay lacing of the glass. A big of hops up front on the palate, citrus, malts a bit more hidden there. The finish just leaves hops on the palate. Nice beer and cheaper. ndubs360 (114), portland, Oregon, USA
