Bright, amber/gold appearance with a fairly large, off white head and decent lacing. Resinous hop aroma backed by grapefruit and other citrusy notes. Straightforward citrus/pine hop taste with a modest amount of sweet malts that only hit the palate as an afterthought. Bitter, lingering, slightly metallic, finish.

2009-08-27. Crisp golden orange body with a modest off white head. Ɠ+) Hoppy aroma is interesting, different hop character, leafy, light resin touches. Bit mild. Ɩ+) Flavour is similar, modest hops are leafy and lightly resiny, mild malt base. Feels just a touch dilute overall. smooth average to light palate. Pleasant. Bottle shared by HogTownHarry

~Slightly hazy pale gold color with big airy white head with good retention. Good lacing. ~Strong floral and citrus hop aroma, slight fruit, berry like, no malts detected. ~Strong citrus flavor. Hops stay until finish, malts are hardly present. ~Medium feel, dry hop finish. ~True to style, but I found it a bit boring. All I am getting from this is lots of citrus hops. I wish the malts were more present or maybe some fruity esters, more berry.

A golden ale with a thin lacing white head. A bready and fruity pale ale with fragrant light c-hops in aroma. In mouth, a nice ale with good biscuitty malt, with light floral and citrussy hops, resinous, yet restrained. Medium bodied. On tap at brewery, August 16 2009.

nose is perfectly balanced even at arms length during the pour: initially toffee notes from well developed malt, upon closer inspection of aroma lightly citric hops peek their head through the sticky malt. body is perfectly carb’d amber with thin head. flavor is just as balanced as the aroma, and the hops are almost peppery in their unique and subdued bitterness. palate is nearly dry.

Clear amber with a lingering white head. Nice floral grapefruit hop aromas. Medium body. Citrusy hop flavors on a sweet pale malt base. Nicely bitter finish.

I have to admit that I am a big fan of Lagunitas and this beer as well. Beer pours golden in color, lightly cloudy with lively carbonation and a big, thick totally retained egg white head. Aroma is pretty straight forward, lots of citrus hoppiness and more hops. This is a very hoppy beer for a pale ale. Flavor is consistent with the aroma, being very enjoyably bitter with a minimal amount of sweetness. When I add in the bang for the buck Lagunitas brings to the table, this rates out rather well.
