Nose is strong with notes of toffee and mango. Taste is sweet iced tea, toffee, biscuits, pineapple, mango and some earthy piny hops. Body is full, this is a bit syrupy. Carbonation is medium. Pretty tasty but more a barleywine than an IIPA as it is very malt-driven.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bright yellow. Nice sweet, citrusy hop nose. Taste is much milder than the aromas would indicate. Very sweet and sticky. Not memorable. Does Lagunitas make the same beer over and over and just rename them? heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Medium bronze colored body with a lightly yellowish tan colored head. The nose is massive grapefruit citrus with a lot of lemon bread. There is a musty smell that complements the sweet fruit. I get a cellar like smell, like the sweet notes of a dusty, very old library book. The taste has some strong grapefruit rind with lots of mango, especially in the finish. There is a salted peanut shell note that comes through after each drink. Highly carbonated, it is a little harsh to drink. I loved the smell, but the taste is just a little too much in the woody resin without the pleasing hops tones. kseecs16 (907), Naperville, Illinois, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 15, 2009 22oz bottle. Small to average head settles into good lacing. Cloudless amber/orange body. Cedar and apricot on the nose. Roasted malt? Well balanced maltiness to hoppiness. Hops are pine and citrus. Alcohol is there, but doesn’t burn. Nice finish. tastybeer (122), Washington DC, USA

Taste was stale IPA - lots of nuttiness. I still enjoyed this beer though, just wish it was more fresh. RAYBOY01 (1852), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Orangish golden pour with robust white head. Nose is intense PNW hops. Big sweet caramel malt base alongside the pine, grapefruit, and resinous attack. Very, very dry bitterness in the lingering finish. Alcohol pretty well hidden, until the lingering warming begins to seep upwards from the stomach. Very nicely brewed. csbosox (1082), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 13, 2009 22oz bottle, purchased locally. Piney, citrusy nose with some tropical fruits and some wildflower honey. Light golden orange color with a persistent off-white, one fingered head. Resiny, piney flavor with some orange and tangerines. Some residual sweetness that tames the strong bitterness somewhat. There is a slight burn in the end but I am not sure if it is alcohol or bitterness or both. Overall this is an average IIPA, but enjoyable nevertheless. It is certainly nice to have several IIPA’s to choose from here in town when not too long ago there were hardly any. Crit (2407), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada
