| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Bottle… Clear golden ale with a small, wispy, white head. The discreet aroma is of toffee and earthy, citrusy hops. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. The flavor bends just a touch toward the sweet side of balance. A huge caramel malt backbone outshines all kinds of citrusy, piney hop bitterness. Lengthy, bittersweet finish… the sweetness finally fades while the bitterness lingers on and on and even numbs my tongue a bit – like Novocain. faroeviking (6100), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Pours a honey orange with a decent head. Lots of hops on the nose - way more than I expected in what claims to be a wheat beer - slightly earthy, but mostly just nice and crisp citrus hops. Ooooh - this might be one of my new favorite "I don’t want anything crazy" brews - hop-forward, with a bit of a bite to the bitterness up front, then smoothing things over with the lightly toasted grain / wheat notes, and finishing with a citrus zing. Perfectly refreshing after a day’s work - exactly what I wanted.
