A decent head relaxes swiftly leaving behind a lacy ring. Strong aromas of citrus. I have to say this really is a smooth IPA with a creamy texture. It just rolls off my tongue. Big citrus rind impact with a balanced malt backbone. The finish is ling and lingering. This is juicy and downright delicious. dge (1), Georgia, USA does not count | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Had to taste this given the name alone - turns out it brought a smile to my face as I savored the contents. Fresh, herbal, citrus, very well balanced and great to go with the excellent pizza. Would have loved a pitcher but there where more things on the menu.... jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA

Slightly hazy light gold in color with a nice white and oozing lace. Juicy fruit hop flavor, definitely lots of hops to go around, tons of lemons, limes and grapefruit. Enough maltiness to keep it honest with a dash of caramel. Great beer. SSSteve (2096), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Yeah, it carried a bit of summer lightness but this had plenty of substance and went down like smooth creamy butter. I would most definitely have this again, quite enjoyable. Hoppy, a little fruity, drinkable as fuck. [:14] 17thfloor (1505), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours a slightly hazy glowing orange amber with a lovely dense white creamy froth. Magnificent fresh hop aroma, citrus and fruits, bitter bubble-gum, light resin and spicy pine, eraser, sweet glue, a bit peachy, sweetened grapefruit. The wheat imparts a great yet complimentary contrast to the huge hoppiness, like candied hops on a triscuit, smooth caramel and honey, grapefruit, metallic bitterness but evenly matched, floral hops, this definitely gives Bell’s a run for their money. Fantastic long lasting honey and bitter hop aftertaste. Medium bodied with a super smooth sharp but fluffy mouth feel, not sticky, fluffy carbonated water feel, perhaps a bit vacant in the finish.
I love it! Some serious yum. Bring on the wheat-wine. CheersMate1 (821), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 23, 2009 12 oz. 6-pack. Picked up at Greens on Ponce De Leon. Lovely copper orange in color. Fluffy head looks like it is going to fade away, but this beers looks like a great IPA. Even with a few minutes the head is slowly fading away. VERY pungent IPA. Very sharp citrus and pine hop aroma. A must say this beer is pretty damn delicious smelling. I think this is on the level of an imperial/double aroma. Very nice pungent aroma. Nice touch of sweet malt that mixes in with the poignant citrus and pine aroma. AHH delicious smelling. A lovely upfront in your face citrus hop taste that just lingers. The hop flavor actually develops. It is not overly bitter for no reason, or just because it can be. This beer finds a way to give all of that bitter taste without offeding your tastebuds. The sweet taste also balances out the hops. The palate could use some improvement, but I must say, this is one of, if not, my favorite IPA. Simply a masterpiece from Lagunitas. Hopefully, this one doesn’t produce the "bad batch" ever. I would love to have this as a weekly treat.
