| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 14, 2009 Cask @ Hopmonk. Pours a very dark, chocolate brown color; medium-tan head - huge, textured - with great retention; like a dark sea foam. Spicy pepperiness, like brandy-like (rounded alcohol) notes, and some oily dark chocolate in the nose; smells softly barrel-aged. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of barrel character showing in the mouth; bourbony, some alcohol (it really ramps up as it warms, hugely so), lightly spicy, bitter chocolate and licorice and a peppery character; soft core; fluffy presence from the cask. Not a great example of barrel-aging, but pleasant enough served like this: lasting finish of barrel notes; oak, light bitterness, chocolate. redlight (1460), Winter Park, Florida, USA
