Aug 9, 2009 On tap at the brewery on the RBSG Saturday Tour, 2009 Dark brown, almost black with minimal tan head, like the crema on a cappucino. Nose of chocolate and coffee. Sweet, dry, hint of the bourbon. Maybe a little too sweet.

Jul 24, 2009 Draft at Max’s, Baltimore. Deep opaque black with some brownish edges. Rich and sweet, the coffee and the bourbon play off of each other quite well. Thick and full bodied. Semi-mild carbonation, but the bitter chocolate and hops more than make up for it. Well done.

Jul 23, 2009 Cask. Blackish beer with a tan head. Bourbon aroma. Bourbon and caramel flavor with light vanilla. Medium bodied. Bourbon and light stone fruit lingers with caramel and light vanilla. The bartender was sure this was the Imperial Stout and not the Cap Stout, so it could be a different beer...

Jul 18, 2009 Draught at the brewery during RBSG09. Black with a tan head. The aroma is just lots of sweet bourbon, with a hint of coffee coming through. Lots of bourbon in the flavor as well, but not much alcohol. Coffee, wood, and caramel show as well. On the lighter side for a stout this big, and it works well. The flavor on this was pretty simple, but nice. Much better than the regular version, which I really don’t care for at all, with its harshly vegetal coffee notes.
