| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Draught at the brewery during RBSG09. Black with a tan head. The aroma is just lots of sweet bourbon, with a hint of coffee coming through. Lots of bourbon in the flavor as well, but not much alcohol. Coffee, wood, and caramel show as well. On the lighter side for a stout this big, and it works well. The flavor on this was pretty simple, but nice. Much better than the regular version, which I really don’t care for at all, with its harshly vegetal coffee notes.
