Aroma is malty and fruity with nice pine hops.
Taste, caramel malts with brown sugar. Mouthfeel is sweet with a honey feel.
Lightly hoppy with fruit - apricot - feel.
Alcohol gives the beer a nice warming palate feel. A good and complex sipper.

Dec 28, 2008 Bottle. Sweet hoppy and fruit aroma. Brownish red body, no head. Flavor is sweet, hoppy, with fruit and caramel. Definite alcohol. Candyish finish.

Dec 27, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a rich copper-amber color with a one finger beige head that slowly dissipates. The aroma is light to moderate and shows sweetened barley malts, light molasses and biter hops. The flavor is overtly biter-sweet with plenty of hops set in a backdrop of rock candy and sweet malts. The mouthfeel is full and satisfying with lively carbonation. The finish is long and biter-sweet. Overall: I very much enjoyed this concoction, it has a good balance biter and sweet. Recommended.

Dec 26, 2008 Bottle from Heritage. Pours a filtered amber color with mild carbonation and a trim cream colored head. Flavors of bitter hops, black tea, and apple seeds. Not pleasant at all and far from a decent barley wine. Either I had a bad bottle or they really missed the boat on sweetening this beer.

Dec 25, 2008 12oz/6r (2008). Sweet hot mess ... very interesting. Rather flat and hot, but the brown sugar and molasses are all over this. Sticky sweet and smooth. Would love to try a mellowed aged and/or wood versions .. I bet that would add a nice balancing and deeper note.

Dec 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Stinky sweet nose. Lots of sugar and spices. Fruity. Raisins prunes and molasses. Zero head. Cling of foam around glass and sticky oil slick. Clear rusty orange red color. Hs a nose like Barbara Streisand. Sharp in the front, then a big mouth burst of thick sweet, and then back to bitter. Creamy spicy finish. What happens to this if its aged?

Dec 24, 2008 Bottle from S&K Beverages. Pours a nice clear deep amber with beige head. Aroma of malt, fruit, hops, and actual brown sugar, perhaps honey. Flavor is very sweet, malty, hoppy. Palate is full bodied with medium carbonation. Overall, a very tasty beer that warms you up!
