Bottle - shared with Bager, Per, Jannik og Mette. Clear cobber - offwhite head. Brown sugar, barley, dark bread, berries, dried fruits, nice hoppy, citrus, grape, light flowery. A bit too sweet, not powerfull enough.

Bottle. Dark brown in colour with a medium sized offwhite head. Quite mild for a barley wine. Notes of caramel, malt, hops and citrus.

How come you taste so good. Didn’t really taste that much like a barleywine, as it was not a slow sipper. But it was a fine brew. More on the sweet side than the hoppy. Surprisingly strong in alcy. Kind of thick and sticky feeling, but in a good way.

Deep amber brownish pour with minimal thick head. Aroma big on caramel, malts, and of course some hints of brown sugar. Flavor was more immort ale barley wine then barleywine-barleywine flavor. More syrupy if you will. Still good. A little cloying going down, but solid and sweet.

22. Pours crystal clear deep amber with sparkling ruby highlights. Enormous tan head (half the glass) with intermittent sedimentary layers of lace. Gorgeous. Big sweet caramel and nougat nose with solid overtones of sweet fruity hop, cheeba, and plenty of dark fruit there too. Big oily body with a bit of carb and high-gauge ordinance flavors on the attack. Sweet tangy raisiny and dark fruit mid-palate. Fairly clean finish but there’s no escaping the fact that there’s sticky malt sugar sticking around there. This is pretty good, and worth drinking plenty often, but nothing too awfully special given what complexities some other breweries are bringing out in this style.

Pours brick red with frothy head. Aroma is barley winesque with vineous alcohol and caramelly malts plus a soft brown sugar background and herbally hops. Flavor is thick creamy and vineous with caramelly malts lots of brown sugar molasses plus a lot of hop bitterness.

nice brown sugar toffee caramel taste. alcohol was well hidden (didn’t guess it was near 9%). sweet malty and light hop bitterness. full in flavor and moderateley full in body. so, that might be why the head was slow to rise (and meager). this is a beer to have when something really pissed you off. thank God!

Pours amber with a half-finger off-white head. Big whiff of alcohol, sweet malt, and light hops against a surprisingly strong background of brown sugar. As it warms, the sugar comes through even more, eventually dominating. Big molasses and caramel malt flavor up front. This is quickly dried up by hops and a generous amount of alcohol. That touch of brown sugar peeks out like a guilty thing at the very end. Leaves you bitter, with a sticky-sweet taste at the roof of the mouth. I’d have it again.
