| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2007 From the 22oz bomber; this poured an orange-tinted amber with a thin but prominately standing cover of thin foam. Light sugary aroma. The sweet brown sugar (surprise?) flavor was mellow -- I’d never peg this for an almost 10% ABV beer. This drinks very easily, only slightly warming with a nice full but casual Barleywine-like burn, with a slight hoppy tingle to finish it. Good. Sweetish aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Full in body with sweet accents of caramel - somewhat medicinal. The finish is dry. 060407 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2007 Pours a golden orange brown with quite the voluminous head of puffy yellow-tan. Laces sporadically. Aromas of sticky ganja and pine oils. Flavors coat the palate with tacky pine, dark brown sugar, leafy hops, and sticky caramel candy. A sweet beer to say the least. Sticky, oily, and coating. A touch of warmth from the ABV, but for the most part it is dangerously absent. A drinkable barleywine. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2007 thanks to Styles for the bomber. lots and lotsa caramel in the nose on top of a brown pour with some lace. flavor is more caramel with some, not a lot, of brown shugga. also got some flavors of breakfast cereal. medium bodied and not a lot of carbonation. not as hoppy as a lot of BW’s, but very enjoyable nonetheless. chicagobears (336), Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2007 Aromas of pine and citrus with cookie dough. I was surprised by the hop aroma for a "barely wine". A very good balance between brown sugga, caramel and hops. The alcohol is hardly noticeable. Finishes sticky sweet. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
