The aroma is lovely grassy combined with notes of grapefruit, hops, and some caramel, as well as just the faintest hint of alcohol - a very inviting aroma. The flavor is very sweet - a bit too sweet for my liking, with strong notes of caramel, hops, grapefruit, grass, pine needles, roasted malt, and alcohol, leading to a very bitter end with the hops, grapefruit and alcohol lingering, the bitterness finaly turns dry. The body is thick. Just a bit too aggresive in sweetness and alcohol for my, but still nice. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2003 Bottled. Redish amber. Rich grapefruity hop aroma. Sweet and malty with clean, hard mouthfeel. The finish is sharp and resiny. Too raw and unbalanced to impress. All this apart, it is still a good beer, but I expect more of a barley wine than hops. fonefan (11888), VestJylland, Denmark
