Sep 5, 2008 Pours a jet black with little head. Aroma is of chocolate, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar and roasted coffee beans. Heavy mouthfeel. Taste is of strong coffee with little bitterness in the finish. I’d like to see some stronger hop characteristics with this one. This is quite one dimensional. It’s not one of my favorites.

Appearance: Dark brown , almost black with mid creamy top.3+
Nose: Strong coffee aroma. Dry, slightly vinous with slight burn of alcohol. Finishing with hint of quality chocolate.8-
Flavor/Palate : Soft bodied , medium full . Creamy ale with well paired balancing dryness. Neat coffee-alcohol warmth. Satisfying till finish. (p-3+)

Aug 17, 2008 pitch black with quickly disappearing white head. large coffee nose. the major flavors in this beer are the coffee and the bittering hops and it is difficult to determine exactly when which one is contributing. chocolate malt is definitely also present. overall though it doesn’t have a ton of complexity, the bitterness dominates. overall it is a good but not exemplary stout.

Aug 13, 2008 Dark brown color with light brown head, though there is little head to be seen. Aroma full of coffee and light malt. Hits the palate the same way with an addition of light chocolate and cream. Chocolate gets stronger with each sip. Mildly bitter that drinks smooth with a smooth, lingering finish. Very drinkable.

Aug 9, 2008 This one has a dark brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma is dominated by a light roast, some chocolate, and medium coffee with cream. Flavor has a good deal of creamy coffee with a nutty roast and chocolate in the background. A good stout that I had hoped would be more aggressive. Still tasty and highly drinkable.

Aug 8, 2008 Pours dark black with light brown head. Very silky and smooth. Slight coffee aroma with dark roasted malts. The coffee is pretty subtle but becomes more noticable in the aftertaste. Goes down way too easy for 8%. This beer still has some bitterness to it that comes through in the coffee flavor as it smishes around your mouth. Great beer!!

Aug 6, 2008 Bottle. Black, med/large tan colored head. Dissipated pretty quick. Aroma of roast, vanilla bean, coffee. Bitter coffee flavor, not very sweet. Some vanilla hints and roastiness. Fairly drier than expected. Good.

Aug 4, 2008 Bottle from crown liquor in Ft Laud. Black pour with a nice big brown head. Aromas of dark roasted coffee and chocolate. Flavor reminds me of a chocolate coffee flavor from Barnies. Very toasty finish with a nice overall body.
