| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Bomber. Pours near black with a thin brown head. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, and espresso. Flavor is of bitter espresso and dark chocolate, fading to a tart/astringent coffee aftertaste. Nice incorporation of coffee flavor, not too overwhelming. A tad thinner than expected, but a good stout. DrnkMcDermott (1849), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2008 22 oz. bottle, purchased 11/06. I did nothing exciting for St. Pat’s Day, so I brought up my lowest-gravity stout from the cellar tonight. Solid black body with a short brown stout head. Smell of molasses, slight fruit over coffee base. Perhaps this might compare to a Dark Lord? Taste is a little dry at first. Taste like coffee fresh from a roaster comes in, and slight bitterness of cocoa nibs. Kind of syrupy, as others have noted, but more in texture than sweetness. That all can come across a little harsh, which explains the disparity in ratings. I find this to be pretty rich; not really a lot of coffee buzz; at least not now, and fine mutant stout. omhper (12224), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Bottled. Dark ruby, rich firm head. Aroma of coffee and blackberries. Sweet and dense. medium bodied wit somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Coffee is evident, but does not assault, tobacco chimes in. Salty bitterish finish. Lovely flavours, but a bit sticky. I don’t like sugar in my coffee... Imperial-John (165), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Bottle at Beer Bistro in Toronto. Black with beige head. Coffee chocolate aroma was encouraging but flavour didn’t live up to it, not intense enough for me but maybe cappuccino means light. Expected more of a rich body taste. grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Pours black with tan head. Aroma is roasted chocolate and alcohol, I’m having a hard time smelling coffee but it’s there. Mouthfeel is thick and full with an oily lacing that is left in the finish. Low carbonation, not a lot of coffee flavor for what they boast on the label. I’m getiing abit too much alcohol flavor too, maybe not as balanced as I would like. I think I would like a little more bitterness to offset the alcohol finish. This is still a good beer, the alcohol is not overpowering but I would like a little more balance. travita (1920), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Bottle poured into a tulip produced a tan head that turns to a thin lace quickly on top of a jet black body
Aromas of coffee roasted malts as well as some chocolate
Flavors are basically the same as the aroma coffee and chocolate but the flavor is not the typical bitter it is more balanced because of the malts
Medium body almost no carbonation so it goes down smooth
Not a bad coffee stout I had better but I would drink it again

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy dark brown colour with beige creamy head. Aroma of coffe, dark chocolate and a bit vanilla sugar? Very smooth and silky because of low carbonation. Impressive but expensive.
