Nose is coffee, roast, some sweetness, and a flavor to match with a bit of coffee everywhere. Finishes with some hop/ coffee bitterness. Interesting beer, but not as sweet as I would have imagined. Very nice dark brown colour that just lets the sun through.
Clearly coffee aroma, quite roasted.
Sweet coffee taste, a little oily but far from being full or heavy. It is actually very easy drinking.

Strong coffee overtones with a hint of vanilla and caramel. Overall an excellent beer and with its mild price tag I will buy this one again. Moosington (28), Costa Mesa, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Pours a nice dark opaque amber/brown with a small head the diminishes to a ring that leaves subtle lacing. Aroma dominated by coffee as expected, but nice notes of toffee and chocolate. Flavor is again coffee dominated, but there was more malty sweetness and smokey chocolate in the finish than I expected, though I definitely liked it. The malt sticks around for just a touch after swallowing, too. As mentioned before, this is very much a dry stout finish, not too heavy a mouthfeel. Overall a solid outing, even if a little on the lighter side.
