Bottle from Wine Warehouse September. Pours dark cola brown with a medium sized head. Aroma of roasted coffee and brown sugar. Taste is very much the same. Bitter finish, medium body.

Oct 11, 2008 Drank poured into a pint glass from the bottle. A hefty malted, roasty coffee aroma with some accompanying notes of chocolate and caramel; some light earthy hops too. Dark brown color with an amber tint, with a very small, bubbly, off-white head that had short retention. Fairly potent coffee taste is definitely present, also a touch of chocolate. Sweet in nature, with some underlying and finishing bitterness. Wet and watery on the palate, with a very full effect and lower carbonation; mostly smooth and fluid. I am not much of a coffee-drinker, but liked this beer fairly well.

Oct 10, 2008 Bomber from State Line. Pours dark toffee brown. Thin, quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of ovaltine and cappucino. Actually, aroma is very similar to the new Russian Monster Java. Also kinda like homemade Kahlua. Underlyingly, like arabian coffee, sweet and bean-y. Tons of choclate of different types. Light caramel, toffee, a tiny bit of a bite. Flavor is deep. Lots of cappucino, duh, but also a little licorice, pepper, chocolate, kinda bittersweet. Aftertaste is like a mocha-flavored malted milkshake with a distinct alcohol burn at the back of the throat. Beautiful. No carbonation, thick, oily, and viscous. Awesome beer, especially at the price! Hooray Lagunitas!

Visuals: okay package, brown, translucent, little tan head, sticky lace. 4 out of 5.
Taste: medium balance, medium malt, medium hops, low strength, some craft. 6 out of 10.
Palate: medium quality, smooth texture, short finish. 2 out of 5.
Overall: More like coffee than stout, would not repeat, not a favorite, low value, low craft for lagunitas. 15 out of 20.

Oct 7, 2008 Right up my alley. Pours dark and beautiful brown. Tastes very sweet, with hints of toffee thats not completely overshadowed by the awesome flavor of the coffee. I little thinner than I expected..but I like....should be made year-round
