Commercial Description:
This ale contains no actual copper but we're pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots'a nice caramel malt though... Alcohol 5.9% by volume

Everything in moderation. Moderate and Short hoppy finish. Moderate aroma balanced hops and malt. Good malt flavor but some overly buttery notes. Nothing partiularly off with the beer but nothing that puts it over the top.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Rad-amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter not very pleasent flavor. Strange dishwasher-notes. Average light bitter finish. Fizzy oily palate. Not very good.

Bottle. Beautiful copper color. Small head that dissipated withing three minutes. Aroma roasty with some raisin and alcohol notes. Pleasant. LIghtly sweet flavor fading into roasted coffee and then to a slightly bitter aftertaste. A very pleasant progression. Tasted better as it warmed a bit. Looked forward to each sip.

Bottle sample at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle, IL. for a Lagunitas tapping and sampling evening. Poured a hazy, reddish amber, with a decent, white foamy head and clingy ribbons and dots of lacing. The aroma was caramel malt, and a touch of fruit sweetness. The flavor was similar adding some subtle hop bitterness. Nothing that would prevent me from watching the movie, but flavorful and sessionable.

Reddish brown pour, nice creamy white head. Bread/hop smell. Taste is a bready chewy hoppy flavor. I like it but is not "strong".

Bottle into pint glass. American strong ale weighing in at 5.9... huh? Pours a great copper body with an awesome frothy long lasting cream colored head. Aroma is dough, caramel, and juicy hops. Flavor is the same, A very fruity character to the malt hop combination, but I can’t quite out my finger on the fruit. It is just juicy and fresh. Medium dry, slightly biting hop finish. Medium body with medium to low carbonation - great mouthfeel. Overall: solid session beer that I will certainly be buying more of. Not sure why its categorized as an American Strong Ale though, considering it isn’t alcoholically "strong."

Pours copper light brown with a small off white head. Aroma is very caramely with some bits of light fruitiness much like an esb. Not a whole lot else going on beyond the sweet. Flavor starts with a light fruit and sweet toffee character. Pretty much stays the same gains a bit of a floral hoppiness towards the finish. Just very sweet from start to finish, caramel and toffee. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. Not a whole lot going on, pretty basic and boring.
