Tastes of limited hops and rich malt backbone. The bitter aftertaste knocked it down on overall, but it’s a very good ale. Wegro (223), Fresno, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Pours a clear copper/orange color with a big white head. Lots of lacing. Smells grassy and malty, flavor similar. Nice grassy flavor, good malt backbone. Not a lot of bitterness. Kind of like an ESB, but the grassiness makes it like a lager. Nothing fancy but it’s good! Weird that it’s an "american strong ale.’ definitely not very strong. EDIT: okay if this stuff is actually 7.7% abv then the alcohol is hidden extremely well. I wouldn’t guess in a million years. shakespeare33 (120), san diego, California, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2007 Bright, clear, orange-brown with a big fluffy head that lasts a long time. Toast and preserves aroma. A nice woody bite, dry, light cocoa. Medium-light body, mild roasty finish which fades slowly. Nothing fancy, but it’s an easy drink. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2007 [Bottle bought in Vinens Verden sampled with RISK-Finn.] Red lightbrown look with fast off-white head- Notes of flowers, hops, caramel, roasted malt and more hoppy than expected for a "copper" ale. Nice beer! WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2007 Pretty regular coppery red beer, with a hazy look to it. Had pretty good smell, but the ABV is noticeable. Always a fan of thier brews, and as something basic this is very good.
