Body is carbonated, bitey, malty, some bitterness from the hops. Not watery, and pretty tasty. Something strange in the finish though, the bitterness is a little unpleasant, and that keeps me from rating it higher. I almost want to say theres a strange blandness that runs throughout. This was borderline good for me. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Pours a clear amber color into the tulip. A large frothy white head left rings of lacing on glass. The scent was a nice balance of malt, spices and hops. A sweet taste with some caramel, honey and spice. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2007 bottle from liquorloft tallahassee, lots more malt and a little more hops than a APA but doesnt really feel like a strong ale to me. Maybe because it is very very well balanced. hides the alcohol behind sweetness and slightly bitter hops. if not for all the malt it would probably be very hoppy and vice versa. easy drinking as the carbonation was good and the feel wasnt watery but at the same time didnt leave me feeling terribly full. overall a great beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2007 Bottle, 12oz. Pours a reddish copper beer, with a white, slightly yellow, head. Aroma is malty with sweetness and notes of plum. Flavor is bitter hops with sweetness. The hops are grape, and stays in the mouth, giving a long aftertaste. A complex taste, but might be slightly undercarbonated. Overall impression is above average. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2007 12oz bottle. Dark, but clear amber body with an awesome frothy white head that got a little excited and came out of the bottle prematurely. Awesome roasted malt through the body with maybe the slightest notion of honey. Great carbonation and a sweet finish makes this a very refreshing brew. Makes me think of a good amber with an extra dose of hops and alcohol. Yum. boFNjackson (1321), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Bottle... Poured amber with a white head. Strong, roasted malt aroma. Very beefy palate which gives way to tons of malt. With a sweet, citrusy finish.
