| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pours a hazy copper color with a quickly receding white head, leaving bits of lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel-like with a touch of floral hops. Taste gives a trace of toffee, plenty of caramel sweetness that lingers, accompanied by just about the right amount of hops. Medium body and soft, yet higher carbonation. The numbers in my review do not fully match my opinion of this beer. Taste is higher than 4, but not quite a 4.5. This is one that I think I may be picking up more regularly. Well played, Lagunitas. beerbuzzmontreal (2917), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 17, 2007 Pours an orangey copper color with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel with mild hops and some candy sweetness. While the aroma is interesting, the flavor isn’t, the malt feels flat and dull, there are mild hops but also a mild cardboard that could be a sign of a beginning of oxydation. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Average. Beerlando (2347), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2007 Rich, mostly clear, copper-amber color. Small white head that settles to a blotchy film with a buildup at the rim. Minimal lacing. Moderate to high carbonation is apparent. The aroma is rich caramel malty base with floral notes and herbal hops. The flavor is set in a caramel base, with toasty highlights and moderate herbal hops. Medium bodied with a smooth and creamy finish. Very nicely done. Great session beer. rocbyter (921), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Strong fruity malt aroma. Clear orange color with a medium tan head. Nutral malt taste with a good amount of hop bite finish. Marsiblursi (1650), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 7, 2007 (Bottle) Pours copper red. Malt up front in aroma with notes of caramel, nuts, bread and some syrup. Hops in the background with tones of apricots, flowers and maybe a touch of oranges. Malty and a bit nutty, almond like, flavour with some light notes of caramelly toffee. Flowers and apricots are notable in the flavour as well along with some grassiness. A late coming, light, tea like bitterness. Soft and pretty silky mouthfeel with a medium body. Friendly and not too complex, but nice. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2007 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent copper brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty and metallic. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of malt hops and mild brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. It was nice and easy to drink! I could drink a lot of these! cheapdark (2026), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Has a chocolaty aroma when you twist off the cap on this stubby 12 oz bottle. Color is that of darker iced tea. Taste is a little on the strong side. Yes it has those copper ale hints but the alky bitter bite just overwehlms this brew. The alky listed here is 5.9% but oin the bottle it is 7.7%. Seems more like the 7.7% in the flavors. most of the ASAs I’ve had have not been to enjoyable. This one is right there with the rest. Decently creamy carbonation. The flavors of this brew are a little too much for my girlie taste buds. Finish is lingering medium mild bitterness that hangs for quite a while on the back of the palate. As good as Legacy Hedonism, Flying Dog Imperial Porter and Great Lakes Nosferatu. fishingnet (1047), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Bottle. Pous a brilliant copper with a small but lasting off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, floral hops, pine hops, and sweet malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a well balanced bitterness. Very good every day beer.
